We’ve written before about the electric vans available on the market but with more and more emerging, it’s time for an update on the vans out there this year!

Nissan e-NV200

Classed as a small van, the Nissan e-NV200 is deceptive with how much you can actually load in it. It has a taller roof than some models on the market, which means it has been a firm favourite for couriers since it was first introduced in 2014.

2018 saw the van upgraded to a bigger battery pack, which boosted it’s real world driving range from a paltry 60 miles to a much better “in excess of 100 miles” – still not as good as others on the market, but still an improvement!

Renault Kangoo ZE

The electric Renault Kangoo ZE isn’t a newcomer to the market and we’ve spoken about it before on the blog, but it is a van that consistently returns good reviews from its users – no wonder then that it has been Europe’s best-selling small electric van consistently since it was first released in 2017.

The Kangoo has always fared well in part down to its real world driving range and the fact Renault operate a monthly lease on the battery pack, so you won’t ever need to worry about replacing it if it loses capacity.

Ford Transit Custom Plug-in Hybrid

Hybrids are very popular with domestic and business users alike, as they give a bit more reassurance if you run out of battery that you’ll still be able to finish your journey. The Ford Transit Custom offers a combined fuel range of 300 miles but it is important to bear in mind that the batteries are only good for around 30 miles or so.

The Custom does only have a 1.0 petrol under the hood, which means even on pure fuel you won’t be first off the block, but then that’s not the aim of the game here. it will definitely get you where you need to go, with zero emissions around town.

Coming Soon…

  • The full electric Transit, sister to the Custom Hybrid (2021)
  • There are 3 Tesla concept commercials planned for 2022 onwards; these are:
    • Tesla Cybertruck Tri Motor
    • Tesla Cybertruck Dual Motor
    • Tesla Cybertruck Single Motor
  • Citroën also have plans for 2 new electric vans in 2021; these are:
    • The Electric Relay
    • The Electric Dispatch
